Terence Kongolo

Terence Kongolo is another Feyenoord player who is on the verge of breaking through. He is a left footed Central Defender and was born on 14-02-1994. He has recently signed a new contract until 30.06.2015. He is very similar to Bruno Martins Indi. Many Feyenoord fans think he has a bit more potential because he is quicker and a bit taller than Martins Indi. Martins Indi has the advantage that he is a bit more versatile and can also play Left Back. Kongolo has been at Feyenoord since he was 7 years old.

Kongolo won the European U17 Championships with Holland in 2011 and scored in the final against Germany (See video below). He made his debut for the Feyenoord first team in april 2012 and has so far played in 6 league matches. He has also played once in the Champions League qualifiers this season and has also scored 2 goals in 2 Dutch Cup games this season.

Kongolo has had an amazing second half of the season in the Eredvisie and looks like he'll be part of the Dutch World Cup squad.

His two younger brothers Rodney and Fidel have recently been signed by Manchester City.

I agree with Matt, he is not enough explosive (and so stiff)
As far as I saw him, as left back he really lacks of determination (passes, controls, proposing, also some closes) cannot use physic as Martins Indi, especially to protect ... He has important qualities (also as Left Back can improve, I saw some not bad crosses or overlaps) but is too raw, I think is absolutely not ready, like Willems 2 years ago

Io l'ho visto anche come terzino un paio di volte, non so quante volte l'abbia fatto, su Transfermarkt segnano qual'è stato il suo ruolo (comunque vorrei vederlo meglio, mi sembra possa addirittura far meglio da terzino che centrale dalle primissime impressioni, il problema è che non ha avuto molto da fare)

Anch'io credo abbia qualità ma mi sembra gli manchi ancora la personalità oltre che i muscoli. Atleticamente si vede com'è, tecnicamente forse è anche meglio di Martins Indi che nel tocco palla non ha la stessa "delicatezza" (però usa molto meglio il fisico)

Kongolo is very similar to Martins Indi and Stefan de Vrij when they came through the Feyenoord academy to the first team. They were all very skinny and tall but you can see the improvements in those two players and Kongolo will make the same progress.

He has been chosen in the 30 man preliminary squad for the World Cup.

Sto facendo la carriera su FM nel Feyenoord e devo dire che lui diventa un gran bel difensore centrale.

Nel reale l ho visto solo una volta ultimamente quindi non posso giudicare!

Occhio che rischia di essere addirittura titolare al mondale! Per via dell'infortunio di Strootman, van Gaal sta pensando, oltre che a cambiare modulo, di spostare Blind a centrocampo, e di conseguenza il titolare a sinistra in difesa sarebbe Kongolo.

ma sbaglio o lui è un centrale anche se a sinistra si adatta. cioè almeno su FM è un gran bel centrale ma puo giocare a sinistra

eh l'unico discreto Willems si è rotto...mi chiedo se non fosse il caso di dare almeno una chance a Pieters che bene o male ha giocato spesso nello Stoke City...

io penso che sia piu' adatto Kongolo a fare il terzino sinistro e Martins Indi lo vedo come centrale, quest'ultimo per me non ha il passo adatto per fare il terzino...puo' invece disimpegnarsi alla grande da centrale, dato che ha buone doti da difensore (scelta di tempo per gli interventi, senso della posizione ecc) oltre che una buona tecnica per impostare l'azione da dietro...
